Description

We’re looking for a warm, capable Level 3 Early Years Educator to join a Nursery in Hertford. This is a hands-on role where you’ll help create a calm, safe and genuinely enjoyable day for children, backed by a team that supports each other properly.

The nursery is on a working farm with wide outdoor spaces, daily nature play, and real animal interactions as part of the rhythm (yes, breakfast with the animals is a thing here).

Salary:

  • £15 per hour (£31,200/year equivalent)

Hours:

  • Condensed 4-day working week.
  • 7.15am to 6.15pm each day
  • Also looking for lunch cover

Company Benefits:

  • Up to 100% company sick pay (subject to policy).
  • Performance-based annual bonuses.
  • No uniform, be yourself.
  • Proper investment in wellbeing, development and work-life balance.
  • Ongoing training and development tailored to your goals.
  • A unique setting: farmland, extensive outdoor learning spaces, and daily animal interactions.
  • Supportive leadership in a growing independent nursery, with real opportunities to progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a calm, welcoming environment where children feel secure and confident to explore.
  • Support learning through play and curiosity-led experiences that follow children’s interests and next steps.
  • Observe, assess and record children’s development in line with the EYFS, contributing to meaningful planning.
  • Support daily routines and transitions with warmth, patience and consistency.
  • Make the most of our outdoor spaces, embedding nature-based learning into everyday practice.
  • Take part in farm-based moments and animal interactions in a safe, purposeful way.
  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers, keeping communication open and respectful.
  • Work closely with colleagues to keep practice consistent, and the environment safe, organised and inviting.

What we are looking for:

  • A relevant and up-to-date Level 3 Early Years qualification (required).
  • A calm, reflective and nurturing approach with a genuine passion for child-led learning.
  • Confidence working as part of a team, with good communication and a “we’ve got this” mindset.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons, and excited by a nature-rich, farm-based setting.
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and a commitment to best practice.
  • Paediatric First Aid is desirable (or willingness to complete it if needed).
