QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE: A Level 3 or above, in a Recognised UK Childcare Qualification
We have a privately owned, family run Nursery setting are looking for a Qualified Deputy Room Leader in Finchley Central.
Flexible start date: ASAP
Salary:
- £29,000 PLUS per annum
Hours:
- 40 hours per week - Rotating shift, Opening the Nursery 7.30am-4.30pm OR 8am-5pm OR Closing the Nursery 9.30am-6.30pm

The successful candidates will be passionate about working with young children, highly skilled and an enthusiastic professional.
The Role:
- Provide safe, High Quality Care and Education for the children aged between 3 months and five years on a daily basis.
- To fulfil legal and statutory requirements as stated by the governing body OFSTED, EYFS, Safeguarding, Fire Safety Regulations, Health and Safety Regulations, Local Authority Regulations, Food Safety.
- To supervise and assist all members of staff on a day to day basis.
- To contribute to and implement the Nursery’s policies and procedures.
- To liaise with Professional Bodies associated with the Nursery.
- To be a positive role model for staff, parents and children at all times.
- To take responsibility for opening and closing procedures of the Nursery.
- To work with the Manager and staff on the implementation of policies and procedures.
- To take a lead with the planning and documentation of the Early Years Foundation Stage ensuring that learning outcomes are being attained for the children by all the staff.
- To supervise the Curriculum Planning & Learning Journeys in accordance with the EYFS across all rooms in the Nursery.
- To ensure that personal, physical, social, spiritual, emotional, cultural and moral needs are adequately addressed and to actively involve in supporting children in their achievements of planned objectives and goals.
- Liaise closely with parents and carers ensuring that the children’s needs are recognised and met.
- To keep confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff that is acquired as part of the job.
- To attend in-service training courses and meetings as required and cascade information to staff.
- To ensure adherence to Food Hygiene regulations and conduct daily / weekly and full monthly kitchen inspections.
- To ensure correct usage of equipment in the Nursery and encourage staff, parents and children to treat the nursery and contents with care and respect.
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the manager, in accordance with the nursery’s objectives.
The Candidate:
- Level 3 or above in a recognised UK Childcare qualification.
- Able to work as an ambassador for the nursery.
- Minimum of 1 year's experience as a Deputy Manager in a nursery setting.
- Extensive knowledge of the EYFS.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to liaise with and develop good relationships with parents and staff.
- Ideally the candidate should live within 30 minutes commute of the setting.
