Description
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE: Level 3 or above, Full and Relevant, UK Childcare Qualification.
Purple Dove Recruitment are looking for a passionate Deputy Manager to join a nursery setting in Edgware, to start ideally in September 2025. This position is for a room based deputy with key children. The deputy will also do admin tasks and out of room duties, and manage the nursery in the absence of the manager.
A candidate living within a 45 minute journey distance of the nursery is preferred
Salary:
- Salary up to 35k per annum
Hours:
- Full time position, 40hrs per week, full year round, (open 50 weeks per year, closed 2 weeks in December). Nursery opening hrs 8am to 6pm.

The Role:
- To provide a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors, at all times.
- To deliver an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that enables children to make individual progress and to support other staff in doing so.
- To help ensure the nursery meets Ofsted requirements at all times.
- To ensure that the nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others.
- To understand and work to preschool nursery policies and procedures, including how to deal
- To ensure records are properly maintained.
- To liaise closely with parents/carers, informing them about the nursery and its curriculum, exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parents’ involvement.
- To work in partnership with Manager and undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with the nursery’s aims and objectives.
The candidate:
- Full and Relevant Level 3 Childcare Qualification (Essential)
- Relevant safeguarding/child protection training undertaken and a willingness to update training regularly (Essential).
- Knowledge of the Early years curriculum (Desirable)
- Good understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection and of wider legislative requirements for working with children.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable and embrace working cultures.
- Genuine desire and passion for ongoing learning and development.
