Description
We are excited to advertise a new manager position for a small independent nursery group with an exceptional reputation and track record.
Salary:
· Level 3 (full and relevant): £29K/year
· QTS: £31.5K/year
Hours: 45 hours per week
Holidays: 40 days holiday a year
A family-run group of boutique nurseries, recognised for creating enabling environments where children feel seen, nurtured, and empowered to grow into independent, confident, curious young learners.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, safe, inclusive childcare and education in line with the EYFS Framework, OFSTED requirements, and the founder's ethos. You will make sound day-to-day decisions, while also contributing to the long-term development and continuous improvement of the nursery.
Key Responsibilities
1. To act as a ‘key person’ for children in your care and to provide daily verbal and written reports for parents/carers and others on children’s well-being and development;
2. To develop and maintain close, confidential and professional relationships with children, parents/carers, staff, management and outside agencies;
3. To formulate, plan, deliver and evaluate programmes of activities suitable for the range of children attending - indoors, outdoors and in out-of-setting contexts - which are linked to the EYFS, provide a balance between child initiated and adult led experiences that enable children to develop and which meet their physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs;
4. To work as part of a team in a consistent way, implementing agreed policies and
procedures and promoting the development of team decisions that are sanctioned by the management;
5. To form strong, constructive and supportive relationships with parents, carers and other family members and to encourage their involvement in all aspects of the nursery’s life;
6. To actively support the development of children’s language, communication and thinking skills;
7. To provide individual support to children with additional needs and provide information on their progress to parents, carers and outside agencies (if required);
8. To work to ensure that the nursery environment, equipment and resources are prepared, cleaned and maintained in accordance with the nursery’s Health and Safety Policy and OFSTED statutory guidance;
9. To be flexible within working practices in the setting, including undertaking domestic tasks when and where this is necessary, and to attend out of working hours activities (such as training sessions, staff meetings and parents evenings) when required;
10. To complete accurate and clear observations of children, assessments, children’s records and risk assessments, accident/incident reports etc., as necessary;
11. To ensure the safety and well-being of children, including recognition of signs that a child
might be in danger or at risk of harm, and to promote the nursery’s safeguarding policy and practices;
12. To administer medicines and treatments under supervision;
13. To manage and support children’s personal, social and emotional development, including the promotion of positive behaviour strategies;
14. To perform other duties as directed by the management.

3. Previous experience of working with young children.
